A close up look at a colorful floral still life with lots of texture and a cold wax finish.
It's uncommon for gouache (a water soluble medium) to be painted on a canvas or textured surface. Usually they are done on paper, and framed with glass to protect the painting. This painting has a cold wax finish to prevent the water soluble medium from hydrating - it's a great way to have a "watercolor look" on a canvas-like surface!
These pretty pinks simply leap off the surface - the light background is a perfect showcase for this grouping, and the red and green springs to life with its multiple tones and colors.
The panel is not wired, but would make a lovely stand alone piece in its own easel.
The second photo is the back of the cradled board.
